During the period 30.03.2026 - 05.04.2026 the Polish supervisory authorities published 11 official alerts concerning the safety of products available on the domestic market. The majority are recalled food products with a risk of salmonella and listeria contamination, but there are also serious concerns about the quality of medicines and the safety of tools and personal protective equipment. The key notices were issued by GIS (Chief Sanitary Inspectorate), GIF (Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate) and UOKiK (Office of Competition and Consumer Protection).
The most serious GIS alerts concern frozen raspberries contaminated with Salmonella spp. and cold smoked salmon trout MARINERO from Biedronka, where Listeria monocytogenes was detected. In addition, Kaufland recalled its K-That's Why It's So Good! Ustrzycka roulade, also due to listeria. These recalled products pose a direct threat to consumer health and are particularly dangerous for high‑risk groups, which is crucial from a food safety perspective.
At the same time, GIF ordered the withdrawal of several batches of Inuprin Forte and all batches of Lorazepam TZF because of quality defects that may lead to ineffective treatment. According to UOKiK, unsafe NEO TOOLS gas soldering lamps and faulty NEO TOOLS welding gloves are also being removed from the market. This week’s recalled products therefore include food, dietary supplements, medicines and tools, illustrating how broad the consumer safety supervision is.

Featured recalled products – the most serious cases
Frozen raspberries new one, 400 g (FREPI)
Hazard: According to GIS, official sampling detected Salmonella spp. in 2 out of 5 samples of this product. Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella may cause acute gastroenteritis with diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever and dehydration, especially dangerous for children and older adults.
Store: n/a | EAN: 5908238695751 | Manufacturer: FREPI sp. z o.o., batch 011/04/2509 2027 A 324/1.
Cold smoked salmon trout MARINERO, 100 g
Hazard: GIS reported Listeria monocytogenes in 1 of 5 official samples. This bacterium can cause listeriosis, a serious infection particularly dangerous for pregnant women, newborns, the elderly and immunocompromised people. Symptoms include fever, diarrhoea and muscle pain; severe cases may result in meningitis.
Store: Biedronka | EAN: 5900335027794 | Manufacturer: Koral S.A., batch 510794, use‑by date 08.04.2026.
K-That's Why It's So Good! Ustrzycka roulade 400 g
Hazard: Routine testing found Listeria monocytogenes in batches W062/A, W062/B and W062/C. This is another meat product recalled this week due to the same pathogen. Consumption may lead to diarrhoea, fever and severe infection, and in high‑risk patients to sepsis or pregnancy complications.
Store: Kaufland | EAN: 4047905008454 | Manufacturer: Agrona sp. z o.o. sp. k., use‑by date 03.06.2026.
NEO TOOLS gas soldering lamp 20-024
Hazard: UOKiK warns that after installing the gas cartridge, a leaky connection may occur, leading to uncontrolled gas leakage. This creates a real risk of explosion or fire and, as a result, severe injuries, burns or even death.
Store: n/a | EAN: 5906692016501 | Manufacturer: GTX Poland Sp. z o.o. Sp. k., model 20-024 NEO TOOLS.
Ahwagandha live herbs, food supplement 50 ml
Hazard: The product exceeded the maximum permitted level of the pesticide chlorpyrifos. Due to its neurotoxic properties, any exceedance of the MRL may pose a health risk, including neurological symptoms and chemical poisoning, especially with long‑term use.
Store: n/a | EAN: n/a | Manufacturer: Flower One Sp. z o.o., multiple batches with expiry dates in late 2025 and early 2026.
Health risk analysis
According to GIS, the main threat this week is bacterial contamination of food. Salmonella in frozen raspberries can cause acute gastroenteritis characterised by diarrhoea, fever, vomiting and abdominal cramps. Symptoms usually appear within 6–72 hours after ingestion. In children, older adults and chronically ill patients, dehydration may develop and require hospital treatment.
Listeria monocytogenes, found in MARINERO salmon trout and Ustrzycka roulade, is even more dangerous for specific groups. The bacterium can multiply at refrigeration temperatures and cross both the blood–brain barrier and the placenta. In pregnant women, listeriosis may lead to miscarriage, premature birth or severe neonatal infection. In immunocompromised people it can cause meningitis and sepsis.
For the Lubisie Milk snack, GIS points to the risk of mould growth due to slightly increased moisture. Moulds may produce mycotoxins, which in the long term are associated with liver, kidney and immune system damage, although short‑term exposure more often results in nausea, diarrhoea and allergic reactions.
The Ahwagandha supplement contains excessive chlorpyrifos residues, a pesticide with documented neurotoxic effects. For this reason the European Union has largely banned its use and set very low residue limits in food. Chronic exposure may affect the nervous system, leading to headaches, dizziness, weakness and concentration problems.
GIF emphasises that medicine quality defects, such as sucrose crystals in Inuprin Forte or too low volume in Lorazepam TZF ampoules, are not merely technical issues. They may result in subtherapeutic dosing and treatment failure – worsening viral infections in the case of Inuprin, or insufficient control of anxiety and seizures in the case of Lorazepam, with potentially serious complications.
UOKiK underlines that the NEO TOOLS soldering lamp and welding gloves significantly increase the risk of accidents. Gas leaks combined with ignition sources can cause explosions and fires, while gloves whose seams fail in contact with flame no longer protect against burns. These examples show that recalled products may endanger health not only when eaten, but also during everyday use.
Affected retail chains
This week’s recalls affect several major retail chains. Biedronka is withdrawing cold smoked salmon trout MARINERO (EAN 5900335027794, batch 510794). Kaufland faces a serious listeria issue in its private‑label Ustrzycka roulade K-That's Why It's So Good!, with three affected batches with a use‑by date of 03.06.2026.
Selgros, in cooperation with Transgourmet and Mondelez, announced the recall of several batches of the Lubisie Milk 30 g snack due to mould risk. Other recalled products, such as the Ahwagandha supplement, frozen raspberries and NEO TOOLS equipment, were distributed more broadly, including through wholesalers and specialist outlets.
Consumers are advised to check receipts and product labels, paying special attention to EAN codes, use‑by dates and batch numbers. Retailers have pledged to accept returns of recalled products regardless of packaging condition, which reflects standard consumer protection practice.
Consumer advice
If you have any of the recalled products at home, do not consume or continue to use them. This applies in particular to frozen raspberries, MARINERO salmon trout, Ustrzycka roulade, Lubisie Milk snacks and the Ahwagandha supplement. The safest option is to seal the items in a bag or container and return them to the point of sale or dispose of them according to local waste guidelines.
If you have already eaten food possibly contaminated with salmonella or listeria, monitor your health for several days. Warning signs include high fever, persistent diarrhoea, severe abdominal pain, vomiting, neck stiffness or confusion. People in high‑risk groups – pregnant women, older adults and immunocompromised patients – should seek medical advice promptly if any symptoms occur.
Regarding the medicines, GIF recommends not stopping treatment on your own but consulting your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. In the case of Inuprin Forte and Lorazepam TZF, suitable alternatives are available. Hospitals, clinics and pharmacies are obliged to remove the affected batches from use and may help arrange replacement therapy.
UOKiK advises consumers who own the NEO TOOLS 20-024 gas soldering lamp or welding gloves from batch 12-2023 to stop using them immediately. Do not attempt to repair the products or sell them on. Under Polish law you are entitled to a refund or a safe replacement product. Keep any proof of purchase if available, although many retailers accept returns even without a receipt for safety‑related recalls.
Regulatory context
The recall process in Poland is based on both national and EU legislation. For food, the cornerstone is Regulation (EC) No 178/2002, which sets general food safety requirements. It obliges food business operators to withdraw unsafe products without delay and to inform GIS. On this basis, GIS issues public alerts so that consumers can avoid dangerous items and food safety authorities in other EU countries can be notified via the RASFF system.
For non‑food consumer products such as tools or protective gloves, general product safety rules apply and are enforced by UOKiK, in coordination with the EU Safety Gate system. Medicines are governed by the Polish Pharmaceutical Law, under which GIF may suspend or withdraw from the market any batch that fails to meet quality specifications.
Consumers have the right to clear information about risks, to return unsafe or defective products and to receive a refund or replacement. This is why it is important to follow official communications from GIS, GIF and UOKiK and to react promptly to new recalls, helping to reduce the number and impact of safety incidents.
