9 GIS alerts and GIF notices – weekly overview

During the period 29.06.2026 - 05.07.2026 the Polish supervisory authorities published 9 alerts concerning product safety on the national market. These included both GIS alerts related to food safety and GIF notices on medicine quality, as well as warnings about unsafe toys and sports equipment, usually made public via UOKiK. Ground turkey meat contaminated with Salmonella

Zagrożenie: Salmonella was detected in ground turkey fillet meat, despite EU Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005 requiring its total absence in 25 g of such products. Consumption of undercooked meat may result in acute diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever, vomiting and dehydration. The risk is particularly high for young children, older adults and people with weakened immunity, who are more likely to require hospital treatment.

BTWIN SD500E / MD500E electric scooter (Decathlon)

Zagrożenie: A structural defect was found whereby a crack may appear at the junction between the frame and the steering column. The crack can lead to the connection breaking and sudden loss of control of the scooter, in practice meaning a high risk of falls and serious injuries such as fractures or head trauma, especially at higher speeds.

Sauerkraut stew with meat and sausage, 500 g (Międzychód Nowicka)

Zagrożenie: According to a GIS notice, batch 20A3/1 (best before 31.03.2028) contained undeclared gluten at a level above 150 mg/kg. For people with coeliac disease or gluten allergy, ingesting such a product can trigger allergic reactions of varying severity – from gastrointestinal discomfort to more severe systemic symptoms caused by ongoing intestinal damage.

Carrefour Sensation Vegetal hummus with sea salt, 190 g

Zagrożenie: Testing revealed the presence of gluten in this plant-based hummus, posing a risk to consumers with gluten hypersensitivity. Possible effects include allergic reactions of varying intensity and gastrointestinal symptoms. Carrefour, referring to GIS alerts, has withdrawn the affected batch from sale and advises customers with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance not to consume the product.

Finally, the UOKiK-related notices on the Woodyland swing and BTWIN scooters highlight the mechanical side of product safety: a failure of supporting structures at height or at speed can result in falls, bone fractures and head injuries, particularly in children.
