Product Recalls by Retailer
Major Polish retailers like Biedronka, Lidl, Auchan, Kaufland, and Carrefour regularly issue product recalls following alerts from GIS (Chief Sanitary Inspector), GIF (Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector), and UOKiK (Office of Competition and Consumer Protection). When a product is found to be unsafe, contaminated, or mislabeled, stores are required to remove it from shelves immediately and notify customers who may have purchased it.
oAlert.pl tracks all product recalls from Polish retailers and organizes them by store, making it easy to check if any products you purchased have been recalled. You can return recalled products to any store location for a full refund, even without a receipt in most cases. Stores are legally required to accept returns of recalled items.
Your Consumer Rights
Under Polish law, you have the right to a full refund for any recalled product, regardless of whether you still have the receipt. Retailers must process these returns promptly and cannot refuse them. If you experience any health issues related to a recalled product, document everything and consider contacting UOKiK or seeking medical attention.
