Peeled sesame seeds

Peeled sesame seeds from India were found to contain residues of the pesticide haloxyfop at 0.022±0.011 mg/kg and 0.024±0.012 mg/kg, exceeding the maximum residue level of 0.01 mg/kg. Potential effects: irritation of the digestive tract with abdominal pain and nausea after high intake of contaminated product, possible toxic effects on the liver with long-term exposure, and increased risk of adverse effects on the developing fetus in pregnant women.
