Salmonella was detected in all 5 tested samples of frozen poultry kebab, although it must be completely absent in 25 g of product (safety limit: absence in 25 g). Potential effects: acute diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever, vomiting, dehydration, and in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems – risk of severe infection and even sepsis.
